Graphics Terms of Use

Thank you for reading our terms of use for graphics. Please don't use our graphics until you understand these Terms. If you should take and use our graphics you have automatically agreed to our terms. I update these Terms without giving notice, and retain the right to do so. Your reading them occasionally to refresh your understanding of them is recommended.

All graphics created by Mary, including special orders, are copyrighted to Mary's Little Lamb. Therefore, if a graphic you purchase at Mary's Little Lamb is placed online and it is stolen and/or copied, we (the copyright holder) are responsible to address the issues of copyright abuse including theft. However, it must be understood that even though you use scripts and programs to protect your graphic (and we recommend you do), we may not be able to protect your investment nor should Mary's Little Lamb be held liable or responsible for that copyright abuse.

It is important that you not "give away" any graphic that has been purchased through Mary's Little Lamb. It is not yours to give away. We want to be assured that our graphics are used only by those who have read, understood and have agreed to our terms of use.

How may I use your graphics?

1. You may use Mary's Little Lamb's graphics to decorate your personal web pages, print them out to make cards, stationary, scrap books, emails, newsletters, etc. as long as they are for personal use and you are not selling the items you create and as long as you provide a link back to "http://www.maryslittlelamb.com" on each page or email the graphics are used. Please remember to place "© www.maryslittlelamb.com" on all printed material where our graphics are used. You may use a logo provided by us, or you may use a text link.

How should I not use your graphics?

2. You may not alter or change the images, not resize them, add text to them, build new ones from them (awards, banners, tubes, special effects, etc.), re-distribute them, digitize them, add them to collection sites, use them for card sites, use them for stationery sites, use them for tube sites, or re-sell them. You may not alter the images. The ONLY exception is when a you are given permission by Mary, for example when a blank image is provided in a set for you to insert your own text. You may not post Mary's Little Lamb graphics in newsgroups, clipart mailing lists, chat rooms, ICQ and/or message boards. You may not digitize them or change their original format in any way. You may not resize them even in your editing program. Write us if you need an image altered. If time permits, we might be able to do it for you for free!

What about commercial sites using your graphics?

3. Beginning January, 2000, there is a $20.00 charge for commercial sites using Mary's Little Lamb's graphics from our free graphics pages. There is no fee for commercial sites who purchase our CD or who purchase a collection but we do require that you contact us before you get started. The fee is per site, so if you own several commercial sites, you need to register each one separately. To register your commercial site using our free graphics, please click here.

What about web designers?

4. On February, 2001, Mary's Little Lamb formed a partnership with Diane's Web Design (now Light Shine Designs). Diane is our only "licensed" web designer. In other words, you would need to contact Light Shine Designs if you wanted a commercial site built for you. If you have a web design business, please note that we are not offering our graphics to anyone but Diane for commercial web design. Exceptions are some times made for personal sites designed by a second party. Please write first.

How do I link back to your site?

5. Please be sure to create a link back to Mary's Little Lamb on the same pages where the graphic is being used. The URL to use is http://www.maryslittlelamb.com and the name of the web site is Mary's Little Lamb. All other pages are changing and evolving, so please do not link to any other page or URL. Use one of our logos or provide a text link at the bottom of the page where you are displaying our graphics.

Why not link directly to your graphics? What IS direct linking anyway?

6. It is very important that you do not link directly to the graphics on our server. Do you know why? If not, click here.

If you are using MSN for a membership site, PLEASE DO NOT direct link even though you may be given directions to do so. It is against our terms to direct link and we change our files often to break such links.

If you are using Web TV to build your site and are considering using our graphics we are happy to have you. . . but please click here first. DON'T link directly to our graphics. This is a wonderful resource page for you, and it explains clearly how to use the graphics for your site and for your emails.

What sort of sites may use your graphics?

7. Mary's Little Lamb graphics may be used on family friendly sites only.

Can I change the file format of your graphic images? What if I'm an AOL User?

8. Please do not ever change the format of our graphics. The gif format we use is best for the Internet. If you change the image from this format to another, it will look awful and we don't want you to do that. If you need a graphic file changed, contact Mary. If time allows, we will do it for you.

What if I don't agree? What if I don't understand your terms of use?

9. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use our graphics. Please do not assume any uses of our graphics that Mary may not have included on this page. If you have questions or if you are not sure of a particular use for any of our graphics, email Mary. In the event that our terms are not adhered to, Mary reserves the right to request you remove Mary's Little Lamb graphics from your page. You, in turn, agree to the removal upon said request.

Mary's Little Lamb reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.

Mary's Little Lamb's custom service is offered to adults (21 years of age or older) only.

May I give a graphic as a gift?

10. If you are purchasing a set, collection, CD or special order as a gift for someone other than yourself, we will need to know if that person is a respecter of copyrights and artists' terms of use. Please contact Mary by email to work out these particular issues. Our copyright and our terms of use will need to be passed from the gift giver to the recipient.

PLEASE DO NOT give your special order graphics away to another party.
